Summit Breakout Session Registration
Friday is our 1st FULL day of content. Based on YOUR FEEDBACK, we have 4 full sessions with many led and presented by your peers! Please select one breakout for each of the 4 sessions.
This year, you can EDIT your choices in the Hub Portal if you would like to switch your selections at a later time (make sure you provide the email you use as your portal login). If you encounter any issues, please email Michael – mthena@honorflight.org
If you have a question you would like to submit to the presenter in advance, you can include it below. Your name badge will feature a QR code unique to you. Please scan in upon arrival to your breakout room. This will allow us to share the list of all participants for future collaboration.

Annual Financial Planning
Developing an annual financial plan will help you better serve your Veterans. You will learn how to identify and quantify what your operational costs are. This will assist you in your fundraising and sponsorship efforts. This will be led by Brian Ziegler, Badger HF.
Hub Portal Workshop
Michael will go over some tips and tricks to help new users and others get the best out of the portal and help you not make some very common mistakes. This is also you chance to engage and ask questions and offer suggestions on the portal. Bring your devices – this is a hands-on workshop.
Practical Fundraising Ideas
Hear from your peers on practical fundraising ideas and approaching corporate sponsors. Aaron Van Beek (Midwest HF), Denise Rouleau (Puget Sound HF) and Beth Johnson (Columbus HF) will be leading this session.
Grant Writing Workshop
Doug Inman, Portland IN Community Foundation CEO will show you the basics on writing your own grant and how to find potential funders. Doug personally wrote grants in 2024 totaling over $100,000 to fund an entire Honor Flight.

Selecting and Communicating with Veterans and Guardians

Mentoring Guidelines
Led by Allison Quinlan (Lone Eagle) This session will review the requirements for becoming a mentor, your responsibilities once you are assigned a hub to mentor, and how to locate the tools available to you when mentoring. It is required for any existing hub mentors and optional for anyone interested in learning more about the Hub Mentoring Program.
The Future of Social Media: AI and Mobile Video at Your Fingertips
In this workshop, we’ll explore how AI is revolutionizing content creation and enhancing social media engagement. You’ll learn practical strategies for using your smartphone to produce high-quality videos, harnessing AI tools to streamline the process and elevate your social media presence. This will be a hands on workshop led by Brandon Fields so bring your laptops, iPads or smartphones.
2025 Reg Manual Updates & Hub Support Updates
Join Meredith for a review of the 2025 HFN Reg Manual, including frequently asked questions and updates, as well as information on the updated Hub Support (f/k/a Hub Assistance) program. This session was highly requested again this year. Meredith will review new updates to the HFN Reg Manual as well as touch on some common questions/issues within the Reg Manual.
Honor App Working Group
Are you an Honor App user? Come join RFX Technologies for this workshop to interact with representatives on current and updated functions of Honor App, as well as provide requests for enhancements. Bring your laptop and password and follow along! You will have an opportunity to submit your questions or enhancements which will be shared with RFX prior to the session.
Pre-Flight Operations
Do you struggle with organizing all the details of your trip? Join this breakout on Pre-Flight Operations moderated by Denise Rouleau, Puget Sound Honor Flight, to discuss pre-flight operation-related topics submitted by your peers.
